My opponent, Jim Pitts, gets most of his campaign contributions from large special interest groups or other large donors. For 2010, Pitts only had 385 individual donors, versus 243 institutions that donated. But out of those 385 individuals, many were tied to those 243 institutions! Only about 7% of Pitts’ campaign contributions came from inside his own district in 2010. Out of district donations are fine to an extent, but why does 93% of his financial support come from outside the district?
I don’t want to be beholden to large special interests who think they can buy my vote. I want to be held accountable to you, the voter. I believe I can run a very effective campaign on $15,000. All I need is 3000 individual donations in the amount of $5 each. Will YOU be one of the 3000?
So what do you get for your donation? You’ll be helping elect someone who:
- Will fight for limited government
- Will fight for your property rights
- Will take a real stand against abortion in Texas
- Will fight to end the property tax in Texas
- Will stand up to corrupt leadership in Austin
